Task 1

Which of the following volunteer activities do you think is the most beneficial to the environment? Cleaning the city, planting trees or recycling?

 

Task 2

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people today are more informed than their parents when they were young?

 

Task 3

【学校决定】The university suggests that music major enter off campus competition.

 

【学生意见】The man agrees. 1, it can give them more chances to perform; 2, it’s important to learn art in an earlier age if someone wants to major in art.

 

Task 4

【名词解释】People tend to talk less to those they are familiar with.

 

【讲座例子】The professor invited another two professors for dinner. He is familiar with one of them. He only clearly explained the address to the one he is not familiar with. The one he is familiar with didn’t find the right address.

Task 6

【讲课要点】A principle that female animals will become brave after having babies. Two mice searched food in a container with a cover and another open container. The mother mouse was brave enough to search food in both containers, but the non-mother mouse only searched food in the container with a cover.

Task 1 sample answer: I think planting trees is the best thing to do. First, trees and plants are the reason why we have oxygen to breathe in the first place. For example, when traveling to a rural area, we can notice how the air is much cleaner outside of the city. This is because there is more vegetation to provide us with clean, life-giving air. Second, not only humans need trees to survive, animals do too.
